There is no set uniform for classes at HAPA. However, we do ask that students dress appropriately for the class they are taking and dress in the school colours of Black, Pink & White. This may include different shades of pink and greys.
Shoes
Ballet ~ Pink split sole ballet shoes. Elastics for kinder & Junior ballet. Ribbons for Grade 2 and above.
Pointe shoes may only be worn on advisment of the Principal.
Jazz; Song & Dance ~ Tan split sole jazz shoes. Dance sneakers are not permitted in these classes.
Musical Theate
Cabaret/Broadway ~ Tan chorus shoes. The height of the heel is at the students choice. If unsure, please speak to your teacher.
Cheer & Tumbling ~ White cheer runners. Normal soft soled sneakers are permitted in the first few weeks of class. Chee shoes can be ordered through HAPA Administration
HipHop ~ any comfortable, supportive sneakers for class.
Contemporary ~ Bare feet or preferrably a suede soled foot thong.
Tap ~ Tan tap shoes. Please speak to your teacher to determine the appropriate heel size.
Exams
Cecchetti Ballet
Ballet exam uniform is available from Energetiks Dancewear.
Grades 1 -3
Sleeveless "V" necked dusty pink leotard in cotton lycra and georgette wrap skirt with matching ribbon in hair. Pink tights and pink ballet shoes with ribbons
Grades 4-6
Sleeveless “V” necked mauve leotard or Russian style leotard (no crisscross straps) in cotton lycra and georgette wrap skirt with matching ribbon in hair. Pink tights and pink ballet shoes with ribbons
Majors
Intermediate: Navy blue sleeveless or capped sleeved "V" necked leotard or Russian style leotard (no crisscross straps) in cotton lycra and georgette wrap skirt with matching ribbon in hair. Pink tights. Pink ballet shoes with ribbons. Pink pointe shoes for pointe section.
Advanced 1: As for Intermediate only pink demi-pointe shoes are to worn instead of ballet shoes. (This applies to both Category A and Category B candidates).
Advanced 11: As for Advanced 1 with the addition of a navy blue ½ tutu in place of a skirt to be worn in centre only.
ADV Jazz
The jazz uniform is only available rom HAPA reception.
Level 4 - Transition
Girls - Black HAPA leotard, Black HAPA shorts. Tan dance tights. Tan jazz shoes. Senior HAPA hair bow or HAPA Headband
Boys - Black HAPA pants. Mens HAPA top. Tan jazz shoes.
Majors
Girls - Black HAPA leotardor black HAPA crop top, Black HAPA shorts or black leggings. Tan dance tights. Tan jazz shoes.
Senior HAPA hair bow or HAPA Headband.
NB: all members of the exam group must wear the same uniform. eg: you can not be assessed with 1 girl in a
leotard and one in a crop top. All the members of the group will need to decide together & with the assistance of
their teacher.
Boys - Black HAPA pants. Mens HAPA top. Black jazz shoes.
Primary - Level 3
Girls - Pink HAPA leotard, Black HAPA shorts. Tan dance tights. Tan jazz shoes. Junior HAPA hair bow.
